Tregray Shepherds Huts are an ideal base for visiting both North and South coasts of Cornwall. Close to the shops & beaches, we are located near Redruth, in the heart of Cornwall within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and surrounded by an array of heritage attractions.

Just a couple of miles north of your Shepherd Hut you’ll discover a surf beach with fabulous cliff-top walks, restaurants, shops, pubs and plenty of parking.

Six miles of golden sands await...

Within a few short miles drive, you’ll soon find six miles of golden sands between Hayle Towans and Godrevy Lighthouse Beaches. Watersports galore and all the sunbathing you could wish for.

Summer, autumn or winter, our coastal outcrops are stunning throughout the year and capture the true spirit of rugged Cornwall. Try seal spotting on the north cliffs at Godrevy… they’re often there!

Carn Brea

Step out from your Shepherd Hut and take a hike up to Carn Brea from right on your doorstep. The granite hills boast one of the finest views across Cornwall. We can even arrange a picnic for your journey.

Enjoy spectacular views with a meal on the Carn at the Castle Restaurant with a taste of middle-eastern cuisine. Or, you can arrange a take out meal back at your Shepherd Hut.

It's not 'Poldark Country' for nothing...

A trip to Cornwall isn’t complete without exploring its mining heritage. Within walking distance from your Hut you’ll discover The Hartlands Heritage Mining Museum and the King Edward Mining Centre as well as locations for the famous BBC TV series ‘Poldark’.

St Michael’s Mount

Fifteen to twenty minutes drive towards Penzance you can explore the delights of one of Cornwall’s most famous landmarks ‘St. Michael’s Mount.’ Walk across the cobbled path from Marazion beach to the tidal island. Bliss!

St. Ives

Why not park at nearby Camborne Station and take a train to St. Ives for the day? Change at St. Erth and board the scenic coastal train for a journey you’ll never forget. Packed with restaurants, bars, local cuisine and Cornish ice cream you’ll be spoiled for choice. And for you ‘culture vultures’ St. Ives boasts a Tate Modern Art Gallery and the very famous Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Museum and Gardens.

Truro (Cathedral City)

If the weather is not kind then take advantage of Cornwall’s lovely cathedral city of Truro. Lots of shops, rustic bars, places to eat and plenty to see and do. You can even take the train from Camborne Station if you don’t feel like driving.

Eden Project, St Austell

Within about an hour’s drive you can marvel at the amazing environmental oasis which is The Eden Project. Its numerous biomes contain plants from all over the globe. Come rain or shine, this a full day out. And for thrill seekers there’s one of the fastest zip wires anywhere in the country. A must!

Falmouth

Within half an hour, you can visit the pretty harbour town of Falmouth. Famous for its maritime past and pretty town centre, you can book many boat trips from its main quay taking you in all directions. There are longer excursions up the Helford River, The Fal Estuary or shorter ferry crossings to both Flushing and St. Mawes. A wonderful day out you’ll treasure.

Padstow

If food is your thing then a trip to Padstow will not disappoint. Padstow boasts many restaurant haunts owned by famous TV chefs such as Rick Stein. It’s a great place to visit whatever the weather and hugely popular all year around.

Bodmin Moor

For those more serious hikers and walkers, Bodmin Moor has absolutely everything. Amazing terrain, high peaks, rivers, streams, wild moorland ponies and plenty of places to park to begin your trek.

Port Isaac

Combining a day out at both Padstow and Port Isaac is a good recommendation. Situated on Cornwall’s northern coastline the famous old Port is well-known for TV series’ such as ‘Doc Martin’ and also home to ‘The Fishermen’s Friends.’ Further along the coastline you’ll discover ‘Bedruthan Steps,’ another stunning clifftop location.

Venturing eastwards towards Plymouth (but still in Cornwall) you can discover one of the most beautiful places anywhere in England. With hidden gems such as ‘Cotehele’ and packed with places from a by-gone era, the entire area offers tranquility and peace which is off-the-scale.
